Students Parents Staff Leading Schools Fund Program Other special programs

Sport Education

All students in Years 7 - 10 will be involved in timetabled Sport once per cycle.

To help with logistics while still giving students plenty of choice we will be dividing this group in two. Years 7 and 8 will complete Sport in week one, while Years 9 and 10 will be involved in Sport during week two.

Each group will be given a wide range of activities to choose from, between 10 and 15.

Some of these will lead into interschool teams with Sport Education time used for practice and selection. While many other activities will be undertaken to improve skill levels and to get students "moving".

We expect activities like surfing and mountain bike riding to be popular, with non-traditional activities for teenagers like lawn bowls and croquet also on offer from time to time.

Activities which have been offered include horse riding, yoga, self-defence, bush walking as well as the traditional sports of tennis, football, basketball, indoor cricket, soccer and netball.

At the end of each term students will get the opportunity to choose new activities with the co-ordinating teacher and helpers endeavouring to give students one of their top three choices.

Experts and volunteers will be brought into the program from time to time to add to the success of the program.
